Default Lighter evenings

I've been noticing the last week that the afternoons are getting longer again, I find it such a relief, I hate the dark evenings of winter. Maybe spring is not too far around the corner, and a good summer is on the way. Or am I being too optimistic

I'm hoping you're right and not being optimistic. Lol.
I don't mind the dark evenings, but by now, I'm getting fed up of them

I don't mind the darker evenings too much as I quite like pulling the curtains and cosying up, but I do the longer days that you get in the spring and summer. I'm fed up of winter now and know that February and even March can have a real sting in the tail, so I'm really looking forward to the spring. My first crocuses and irises are starting to emerge in the garden and my primroses are forming flower buds. A bit of colour will be very welcome!

Same here Bev, it makes me feel like winters nearly over ( I must be in narnia) yes only a month to go and the clocks go forward . I think the floods is the sting in the tail. Hope I get down to Cornwall by July
Spring forward, fall back ( the clocks )

Well the storm is here, it couldn't be more horrible, I feel so sorry for all the flood victims . We've all got colds, so we have shut the blinds battened down the hatches and taken to our rooms.......so much for spring have any of you read my family and other animals, well we look a bit like the Durrell family when they decided they had had enough of the English winter , and decided to go live in Corfu.

I only commented on the lighter evenings the other day, all of a sudden it seemed we had about an extra half hour of daylight. However the ice on the road and horrendous winds tell me we have a lot of bad weather to go before we can think about spring.

The weather is just awful today. Sorry to hear you're all feeling unwell. Snuggle up in bed with a good book and get better soon. x
