Sulcata digging
My Sulcata is 13ins long and weighs over 6kgs although were not sure on this weight as she has just gone off the scales so have to buy some new ones .She is kept indoors at the mo in an open fronted large wooden viv and has run of the kitchen .She does go out for a while to just wee and poo but comes up to the kitchen door to come in ,the better the weather the longer she stays out ! The temps in the viv are 36 and 26 with the light on for about 10 hrs .My problem is she has started trying to dig all the time when in .What do you provide for a tort that big to satisfy the need to dig and hide .I put a box in but she wouldnt go in it .Usually she will calm down if i turn off the light. The heat is on night and day.Am i doing something wrong ?

Sounds like she might be to hot and/or not humid enough. In the wild she would dig a burrow to get out of the heat and have it more humid than being on the surface.

You could try upping her humidity. You could also try putting the hide box where she is digging.

You must think im thick but how do i up her humidity ? She has readigrass for substrate cause she digs in that but am i right in saying you cant spray readigrass ? I have dropped the temp a bit and that seems to be better and she has been out a bit and that makes her happier .She allways asks to come in when she has had enough .She will allways sleep in the corner under the heat ,never seems to move away from it.She will not go in a hide or box.We wont have this problem next year as wendy house will be ready by then so she can stay out .I will find that harder than her as we love having her around

You'd have to up the humidity of the room she is in with a humidifier.
