Default Help with I.D.?

This is a baby photo, but it is the only one I have.

Also, I've been assuming this un is a yellow bellied slider?

Thanks!

odds are... Yellow Bellied Slider.

I don't know if you intentionally did it but the shot over the reflective glass for an ID photo is pricless. It gives you the bottom and top information in one shot.

The first one is a map turtle, Graptemys genus. Can't tell the species without a head picture and a plastron (bottom shell) picture.

Sorry Ed, the second one isn't a slider but a cooter. It looks like a Eastern river cooter, Pseudemys concinna concinna, to me.

could be... but the odds are...

What do you think the odds are that a river cooter makes it to the UK.

Also... the way I read it that is a sequence of photos of one specific turtle.

Pretty good I've seen quite a few River cooters in the UK. Also quite a few Florida redbellies.
There are though plenty of Yellow-bellied sliders too. Yellow-belly sliders though have a large yellow splotch behind their eye and a yellow plastron with 2 to 4 spots. This turtle has neither of those.

The first one is a Map - but we need to see its head. The second is a River Cooter, but not sure which one though, definitely not a YBS!

You're kinda right... I was going on odds but it does key out to Chrysemys c. hieroglyphica

just realized it is 2 different turtles.
