Amazing photos - what's the litter size with these little fellas? Also makes me wonder if anything scurries through a snag-filled forest floor more carefully than a male armadillo ?

Now we know why the giant armadillo became extinct - terminal smugness

Only one fully formed miniature baby is born per female , they give birth twice a year nursing baby for about 3 months.
Females come in season 16 or so days after giving birth but females go through a delayed implantation and can stop growth of the embryo reabsorbing it the developing foetus if times are hard

I've only ever met one c.b. three banded before, I don't remember him being that lovely blonde colour. It must be hard to part with the young, they must be very cute babies given how appealing the adults are..
