Not eating
Hi
I collected my horsfield Sheldon on Thursday and I'm a bit worried I havent seen him drink or eat I know it takes time to settle, but i'm getting worried now I have bathed him and he's very active roaming around.I followed all the advice on heat and the right uv lamp, he's in a tortoise table on top soil. Is there something I could give him to get him started I have been offering leaves Florret crispy. |

What are your temperatures in the table, under basking spot, warm end, cool end and night time? How long are your lights on for?

that isn't a long time at all, it will start to eat eventually, sometimes you won't see them drink much at all but are you bathing it every day in a washing up bowl or similar container? place it in a container with shallow warm (but not hot) water below head height obviously, for about 15 to 20 minutes. they take water in through their nostrils at times and without opening their mouth fully so you will not always see it drink. they will eat and drink when they want to if it is provided for them

the red radiccio lettuce in those bags are usually a favourite but salad is not a good long term food on it's own, it's 95% water

My torts love being showered and having water poured slowly over their heads! They stick their heads up as high as they can so perhaps try slowly pouring some water over them or a shower. I've only seen mine drink out a bowl a handul of times AMD I've had mine a few years!
