Smile My hingeback has laid eggs!!!

Any advice gratefully received. I've done several laps of the house prancing around whooping (much to the bemusement of those without the tort bug). I have also got the eggs into a tub of soil/leaf litter in an incubator at 29 degrees C with a tub of water in the bottom. Hopefully this will be ok. I can't get to my independent temp/humidity monitoring equipment until morning. What should I be aiming for with temp humidity etc and do I need to do anything else??? Apart from have another drink that is . Thank you. Whoop whoop I'm in the tort egg club .

Temperature between 27C and 28C, humidity between 80% and 85%. A slightly damp incubation substrate is fine. Wait

Thanks guys. I'm trying to be realistic about the chances of them successfully hatching, but it's hard not to get excited. And I have never managed to get to grips with the whole 'patience is a virtue' thing!

Congratulations. It is exciting stuff, that's for sure. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that they are fertile.

Well done on your eggs lets hope they are fertile would be nice to see baby hinges
If you cant do the patience thing you will be on Valium by the time they hatch no finger nails grey hair and reduced to a quivering wreck

Thanks for the replies guys, I've got them at 27.3-27.9 degrees and between 81% and 87% humidity according to the two sets of monitoring equipment I have. I'm waiting for another temp/hygrometer to arrive so that I can get a third reading (maybe I should be starting the Valium now Gordon!) The worrying thing is I found the same tort sitting in a hole again this evening. And I was so enjoying having long nails and no grey hair!!!!!

My other female is currently in a big nesting hole! Hopefully this is the real deal and not a practise run. She has been in there for 2 hours now. The bad news is my camera has just given up on me so I can't take any pics

More exciting news! Hopefully she'll have some eggs for you soon.
How are the first clutch in the incubator looking?
