I dont think you are understanding aestivation. This is when the temperatures are too hot
for tortoises. They then bury down to escape the heat.
Hibernation, is when cold blooded animals swich off because of the cold.
Most med tortoises will do either or both.
If the temperatures get colder then they windown for hibernation.
If too hot they will bury down to get away from the heat.
I hope this helps.

All nine of my graeca graeca adults will/do hibernate, although some a lot less time than others.
I also have three smaller gg who also hibernate.

Hi

I am not disputuing whether you hibernate or not, just that aesitvation is done when its too
hot, not when its cold<g>.

oh , i know that asvestation occurs cause its too hot for them and they burry down
like for tunisians which dont hibernate , and would asvestate - would it benifit them in the
captivity so they wouldnt grow so fast?

I don't think you would want to artificially raise the temperature so that it's so hot that they aestivate.
