The story of Chelo
Some of you may remember poor Chelo from My Herman’s Well here’s Chelos story , just goes to show how vile the exploitation of wild tortoises actually is and this is still going on at least here in the uk we can say the trade is banned except for those fraudulent dealers still passing animals through as captive bred ,

Shocking isnt it, we are always on about the importation of wild caught tortoises in the Uk but it is happening in other countries as well. It needs to be stopped soon there will be no tortoises left in the wild. It makes me feel sick.

Thanks for posting that link Darren I have seen chelos memorial page. Chelos was a story I along with many others followed I was saddened by his sudden death after he had been doing so well. RIP Chelo.

Very, very sad indeed.
Thanks Darren for posting this tribute to Chelo. I hope this post is a lasting reminder to everyone reading it whether they be keepers or future keepers of tortoises that supporting this trade is not acceptable, then Chelos passing away will be a testement to the long life he should have had. RIP Chelo. Ade
