i can never tell the difference...
between adult T. g. ibera and T.h. boettgeri
i can notice small difference when they are hacthlings but when adult, their carapace seem to even out in colour so the markings don't show as much. any one with a special way to tell the difference between the two? thanks alice.

Hi Alice,
From shell alone? I think that Hermann's are rounder when viewed from above, Gracea are more rectangular (if thats the right word) sort of longer. Of course there's the spur on a Hermann's tail and the spurs on a Gracea's thighs as well. |

Hermans have spurs on the ends of their tails, one of the best ways of telling them apart.
Ibera and graecas have spurs at the tops of their legs.
