Sticking out like a sore thumb
Been doing lots in the garden and with the tort house, so not surprised my thumb was a bit sore yesterday. By last night, it had nearly doubled in size to the other one, was red and quite hot
Was going to take a "selfie" and post on Facebook to wind up my boys - be the first and last time for "selfie" from me. Can't understand what the fascination is with taking your own photo, lips pursed, hair thrown back etc. Problem arose when I tried to press the button to take th picture, I couldn't bend my thumb Anyway, back to the story. Phoned the doctor's this morning. Usual procedures, receptionist asks what the problem is and do you actually want to see the doctor or will a phone call be sufficient. Thinks - yep, lets do a phone call and hope the doctor is clairvoyant Anyway, confined to the house for 2 hours, waitig for the phone, didn't even dare go for a wee Doctor eventually phones, I repeat to him what I had told receptionist is and he says "What do you think the problem is?" Thinks - if I knew the answer to that would I need your help ? Long story short, he feels he should see me, which he did and advised it wasn't gout which he thought it might of been - so much for his clairvoyant skills Now on antibiotic for infected soft tissue (Andrex ) Bit better already - don't like being poorly, but hate phoning the doctor

Well I'm sorry to hear about your sore thumb , that's very inconvenient. It is so annoying waiting for the DR to ring. I waited all afternoon on Monday, I know what you mean about not risking going for a wee, if you do the phone WILL ring. Anyway , by 6.30 I got fed up of waiting , so went and had a bath, just as I stepped out of the bath the phone rings.
