I know!
I'm sure the vet would allow the owner to pay in installments if he promised to set up regular payments. I do wish people wouldn't take on animals if they don't have the money to care for them should they need medical treatment.

What I don't understand is why the vet isn't trying to reduce the swelling, push it back in, use a purse string stitch to keep it in, why is the vet letting the owner keep the tortoise on soil, why isn't it coated in something to keep the tissue damp? I'm just not understanding this whole thing as if the owner keeps doing what he's doing the penis will eventually fall off and he won't need an operation.
The vet or practice that has seen this tortoise should be shot (put simply) Danny

Poor little chap, I can't believe nothing is being done, they've just left him like that. Agree with Danny

I think this has been like it for a long time and understand that the new owner has only taken him on in the last few days.

The vets practice where my son works treats any animal that comes in needing urgent treatment, even when they know the owners are bad debtors as they can't turn away an animal in need. It's very sad for Cedric as it looks to be in an awful condition - very dry and dirty.
