Smile How old are everyone's tortoises?

I'm getting my first tortoise from one of my friends in a few weeks, and he's a Hermann aged 12, just wondering how old everyone else's tortoises are

Mine's still a baby. Will be two next june. (I'm a lot hungover and can't work out how old that makes him just now) Had him about 3 months. Good luck with your new tort. Lucky getting an older one x

One who is between 75 - 85 years.

Out of the other animals (and there are quite a few) our oldest turtle is a Red Ear Slider and she is 16, and an African Grey parrot who is 20+. Added those two just for interest really - they are all rehomers so we are going by what we were told by the previous owners/fosterers.

To get a Herman's at 12 is a great thing, well done, do you know the history of the tort as well, has the tort been hibernated in the past ect.
Mine are all youngsters, 2 Hermans at 5 years, 1 at 7. And 2 Leopards, 1 at about 3 years, and 1 at about 8 years.

Yeah he's been hibernated 3 times, just wondering (sorry I'm not really a Tortoise info guru) but why is it better to have one at 12?
