Default Little one not so keen feeding

Hi all

I have a 7 month marginated tortoice. He was eating but past week ive noticed when i put him near the food he doesnt seem keen!

Also his eye's are closed quite often..

Temp's on the table have been spot on.. any ideas?

Have you checked his eyes to see if theres anything irritating them at all?

Yep, nothing at all, when he does open them, there as you would expect. Giving him a warm bath and hes more alert with his eyes open

I would give him more time to settle in. It can take weeks. An expert may be along soon to better advise you, but i wouldnt worry too much. XX

Have you had him checked for worms? They are quite common and can affect the appetite and general well-being.

Not yet, they were checked over but not wormed yet.. Can they be wormed at any age then?

My Adults have just been wormed ( differnt species ) and due a second dose next week so will take my marginated pair in for a check also if still the case by then?

Generally small tortoises are not wormed, only if they are wild caught and there is a high chance they could have worms.
Most keepers keep hatchling/juveniles seperated from adults, so less chance of worms.
I would bathe the tortoise regularly for a couple of days, if no improvement then a visit to the vets would be in order. If wild caught then definitely a visit to the vets.
