We have just had a skiff, but it has frozen over and is soooooo slippy. My sis in law is 8 months pregnant so i am going to go collect my nephew and take him to school tomorrow, couldn't have her walking in that in case she fell.

it's an absolute blizzard now, it's to be 5 inches more tonight on top of the 14 we've had. my wife's long awaited hospital appointment is tomorrow at 9.30am 30 miles away so looks like we won't be there

well the road we need to use is closed so that's that. we'd never get the car out anyway, it's buried. the street lights are off and the power is flickering. still snowing too, been on all night i think

My wheelie bin lid had frozen shut when I went to put the rubbish out this morning. A large screwdriver solved the problem but the thermometer was showing -6 so it had probably frozen shut again by the time the binmen got here. There was a lot of banging and crashing compared to usual as they came past.
My three torts have relocated from the garage to the spare bedroom for the cold spell. It nearly killed me carrying three crates full of soil into the house but better safe than sorry. The window is ajar in the bedroom and the air temperature is down to 6 degrees so working quite well. No snow in my part of Bucks yet but it's clouding up and some sleet. Sod's law it will snow Wednesday when I have to pick a car up. Tom |
