Default Halogens homebase

It was Frazer who tipped me off about this bargain. Homebase are offering 80watt par 38 halogens for 2 quid. This one I find ideal for indoor use. I went to my local homebase yesterday and stocked up. These are going out of fashion because unless you are warming reptiles they are not efficient. They also have 120 watt versions.

If led lights take over I'll need an alternative eventually. The advantage of the old fashioned par 38 is that it has its own built in reflector and directs the heat. A standard halogen disperses it in all directions.

I did the same, I bought them out of the last ones on the shelf, I must have got about 40. They should last me a while.

It looks like new generation LED lamps are going to take over

https://www.thelightingsuperstore.co...18w-warm-white

These are efficient for light and they don't produce any heat at all.
