I have a hide at the cool end with a damp sponge on the roof of the hide to keep it humid.

I suggest that the humid hide be on the warm end to encourage the tortoise to use it.

If you can move the lamp... a member on this forum came up with the idea of placing the heat source near the entrance of the hide. This is probably the most natural arrangement.

Default Humid Hide

Thank you all for responses which have been very helpful and reassuring.

Can anybody point me towards some pictures of humid hides that they've made please?
