Hi Ossie, is over a year old now has become very lazy indeed eating no live food or not many greens could it be brumation and if so what should I do, should I reduce light and heat and just let him sleep?
Thanks for any help Beverley

i very much doubt it is brumation......this does not tend to happen in captivity, very very few people i know do brumate lizards and the only time they wud do this is after a very good breeding season and to rest them.
in captivity lizards don't just brumate, they have to be induced into brumating, e.g. lessen food, reduce lights, reduce heating and such. don't worry from the age of him i believe he is reaching secual marity at this age and will go through a stage of lizard puberty, he maybe grumpy and go off eatting but also bearded dragons are members of the agamid family and these lizards are well known for eatting less and being less active in the winter season. so aslong as he is a good wieght then don't worry to much..... . |

to help him out through this time, as if he is has gone of eatting for abit it is not that uncommon, try adding reptiboost to his water.
can be brought in any reptile shop. it contains all the stuff his food his giving him but it is in what he drinks. will just keep up his healthy bones and such. i often us eit on non feeding snakes and a few lizards....great stuff. |
