Thanks for the warm welcome everyone
Lol, it is difficult to sit back and plan sometimes as I'm more of a get out and action things kind of person. But any pet is a huge commitment, a life you're taking in your hands and if I had just gone out and bought the first thing I was told I'd now have a Horsfield in a vivarium with a heat mat and no basking lamp! I think my next problem will be stopping myself at just one (thankfully space and budget dictates on that one, as well as knowledge of my own limits). I have a feeling one tortoise in a couple of month's time could become 2 in a year, then a dozen ten years or so down the track I'm sitting looking at websites going "Wow. Pancake tortoises! I want one of those. Hmmm.... redfoots... yup those too. Ah, Indian star...." Of course, I'm nowhere near at a level to keep one tortoise right now, let alone the more advanced tortoises... I can just see this becoming more and more of a hobby as I grow older, when I hear how others on here have got hooked. |

Yeah time is always an issue I am going to be manic with work April / first week of May, so my plan is probably to buy after that. I've signed up for the Tortoise Trust course, so I'll also hopefully be at a more competent stage by then, and have the table fully set up.
