I was getting 30 degrees under spot without reflector at a height ot 10" above substrate, then i lifted it to 12" and it was still switching itself on and off. The temp at the cool end of the table was around 20 degrees so it wasnt a case that the house was too hot either causing it to overheat.

I personally think mine is faulty, and dont expect it to last the 2 years it is supposed to.

ade

have you emailed the manufacturer rather than the supplier

plus i think you are within your consumer rights to get an exchange because the trex isnt doing what it is supposed to be doing

No Linda, I didnt contact the manufaturer, but might be worth a go, very disapointed with the lamp that it keeps turning off.

I have emailed Les Picken from Faunology so many times regarding this I think he must feel as if he is on a private forum

It might be worth an email to the manufacturers like you say. Vee had a bad one too. She had a fight to get hers replaced I think.

Thanks Kelly for that info I will try it see if that work too. Anything is worth a go at this stage. 8) 8)

Hi Jo, have been stuck in the bed since my last post Monday night, havent been well, so i haven't seen what my T-rex has been doing, its still working though this morning when I was down bathing the tortoises, and giving a little clean out.

I will hopefully be able to report back if its still not working properly as I observe it. I am glad yours is working ok now Jo, I thought it was the reflector at first with mine, but when it was doing it again with out the reflector and had no joy with the suppliers of it I have tended to ignore it as best I can otherwise I would end up cracking up with it coming on and off.
