2 new additions to the family!!!
As a macmillan nurse, I often find myself in the position of having to find homes for cats, dogs and the like.
However, last week one of my patients got less well and asked if I would take his torts, as he feels too ill to look after them. I have been seeing them in that viv for months and tried to help, but not very sucessfully. Anyway I now have them home 2 male hermans approx 5 years old: Stompy and Sunny. Both in a bit of a pickle. Overgrown beaks, pyramiding, and used to a diet of pellets, runner beans tomatoes etc. Got them straight out of viv, pretty smelly and with flies YUK Currently living in my linen drawer !!! whist new table being created, got them some UV light which they are currently basking under, and gave them a good bath- both looked a bit shocked. They had half hour outside yeaterday which they loved. off to the vet Monday for a check over!!! They are both really sweet docile torts, unlike snoopy who is much more precociuos (Thats youth I suppose) Enclose pic Thanks [/b]

Well done for rescuing them, Elliepom - and I'm sure the owner will be relieved that they've gone to a good home.

Hi Ellie,
I'm glad you have them now. I'm not sure that they are Hermanns tortoises Can you post plastron pictures? I know they will be doing much better with you now. Danny

My thoughts too Dan, but the larger picture is too blurred to see properly.
