Tables
Hi everyone, we are hoping to get our first (possibly 2!!) horsefields in a few weeks and I am looking into making my own table A few questions....
Will 4ftx2ft be big enough for at least 1 probably 2 hatchlings Which would should I use? Do I seal it? Do I varnish it? What sort of depth should the sides be to give plenty of digging room! I want to make sure the table is all set up and the lights/heating is working properly before I bring baby(ies) home!!! |

Everything you need to know will be in here. Lots of info so you can make your own mind up exactly how you would like your table to be. Doesn't have to be a wooden one either. Lots of pics of other tables are in there to give you ideas.
A 4ft x 2ft table will be fine for a couple of hatchlings and for some time after that. I have a 5ft x 1.5ft table for two spur thighs born in 2009 and the size is still OK for them. |

I'm pretty sure my table is 4ft by 2ft and it seems pretty big enough for my hermann. Mine is about 15 inches deep.
I used exterior plywood... it is varnished on the outside but not on the inside. My tort table isnt sealed however I have a sliding hatch but it only covers about a quarter of the table at a time. |
