Becky just wanted to say it may be worth holding onto your money as both Aldi & Lidl sell coldframes around spring time. Usually someone spots it & spreads the word on here I think they are good quality/price from what I read. - unless you see one on special out of season.
Phoebe is settling in nicely, no hunger strikes thank goodness. Im going away for the weekend - my son is on tort duty but I must get some photos when I get back. |

Rach, that is a cracking idea! Not sure Toby will go for it. Might have to build another snowman to keep him busy without his Toy Story DVD
Lynn. I've got my eye on one. Can't remember the name of the site (The Tortoise Garden or something like that), it's like an outdoor house but it's got a coldframe type roof. Gorgeous! Altho I have seen older threads about the Aldi ones. Never noticed them last year tho. Maybe a proper coldframe would be better for growing weeds? Hmm. I'm still not sure. But I do enjoy the planning. I'm not planning on leaving him out over night. Too many foxes and I spotted a weasel this summer too. Lovely to see one in the garden but I wouldn't trust it!

Thats the site! I like the one with the clear roof. But still not sure a normal coldframe wouldn't be better. I'm think for growing weeds in the colder weather when Ed will be inside.
I put down some t rex pellets today and he scoffed the lot. So I put down some salad and he scoffed all that too! Gone from eating nothing to eating everything. We'll make a greedy Tarbatt of him yet x

a normal coldframe would be much bigger but not big enough to act as an outside enclosure on it's own though really. it's usually used as just part of the enclosure.
unless a small tort and very big coldframe perhaps might be ok |

Oh no i'd just have it in the enclosure, but open so he could come and go whenever. Hmm. A coldframe does tick more boxes. Probably more practical in the long run. Ooh, I do enjoy planning!
