Leopard tortoise growing too fast
Hi all,
Here's Squirts last 3 weight & measurements March 26th 2010 She weighed 1lb (454g) and was 13cm Long May 23rd 2010 She weighs 1lb 4.80oz (589g) and is 14.3cm long June 20th 2010 (Today) She weighs 1lb 3.90oz (564g) and is 15.2cm long (6 inches) She weighs a bit less this time as she had just had a wee & poo before i weighed her. But if I'm honest i think she is growing too fast even for a Leo What do you all think? |

Looks ok to me, Leo's and sully's have big growth spurt's, my smaller Leo, moved a bit 2 month's ago and seemed to have settled in the weight and lengh dept. Stick my neck out and say your Squirt is looking good. Also read a while ago that it can be difficult bringing a non slightly bumpy Leopard up in this country.

Squirt looks fine mate, Ralph has grown loads since we moved to Cornwall, he's been checked by the vet who says its normal for growth spurts.
As long as the new shell looks healthy its fine Cheers Sara |

Honestly Hepard, I had exactly the same worry with Ralph. Took him to the vet who said make his diet high fibre and that was it, the bumpiness will grow out (not completely).
I will be taking him for a check up soon just to get him checked over. It is so worrying isnt it, especially with this species as they are bloody fussy lol |
