Sherri to be totally honest with you Hermanni hermanni are pretty thin on the ground and to get a female Thh is like looking for gold-dust.
Is there really no way you can find the room to separate them? I'm only saying this as to wait to get someone to swap a male for a female you could be waiting a very long time...sorry |

Even if you had one male one female you would more than likely have to separate them as the male wouldn't leave the female alone.

Perhaps if there is no way round it you'd be better off selling him. Are you certain it's a male (tho probably can't be 100% at 3yo) and certain it's Hermanni Hermanni? Has it been ID'd on here?

If they are fighting and injuring themselves then you should separate Sherri. I empathise that you have a little girl and its difficult but maybe if you cannot separate due to space, then for the tortoises well being and health, you should sell one/rehome it -as caledonia has said. Its not something that can be ignored with them fighting.
See what others say on the matter. Last edited by yuna1971; 18-04-2010 at 01:04 PM. |

Then make a divider in the torts enclosure, so they cant get to each other. Ok your reducing each torts space but at least they are safe!

I agree with Rosshan also. If I am perfectly honest with you ,with all due respect, but you shouldnt have got 2 if you did not have adequate space to keep them.
I sincerely hope you can take the advice of people on this thread and do the right thing, but please dont just leave it - hoping it will go away. I wish you luck, please take peoples advice Sherri. xx |
