A few Questions- Help!
Hello!
I am getting a young Horsefield in a few weeks time, so wanted to get it right and have a few questions to ask! 1.) What is the recommended uv/uva output for a young Horsefield Tortoise(5.0 10.0? etc.) 2.) Do you have to have a thermostat and temperature regulator, or can you just have a basking/heat lamp and Uv bulb? 3.) At night does the Tortoise have to have a source of heat, taking into account that we are going into winter?! Thanks very much, your advice would be appreciated! |

I think 10.0 uv should be right.
I use a basking lamp and UV strip, I do have the heat lights on a thermostat just to make sure it doesn't get too hot in the summer but if it is a stable temperature should be ok without one! At least until summer at the very worst So long as the night temp is over 15°C then no extra heat is needed
