If I measure the carapace it comes out as 165.1mm and plastron was 139.7mm. So at 515g so I need to be feeding him up then?

Most likely your Horsfields tortoise (at that size) is a female (a plastron picture would confirm this). Now your tortoise is very under-weight as she should weigh 940g at that size. Adding a good pellet to her diet will help her get to the weight she should be.

I just measured Speedy as per the instructions on that tortoise table site and he/she came out at almost 5 3/4" long. What pellets should I get? I have a Pets At Home nearby that I can buy from quickish. Also, will Speedy happily eat pellets? He/she isn't used to them. Thanks xx

Speedy is a male, a large male, but a male none the less So at 145mm Speedy should weigh around 700g. Mazuri or Nutrazoo are good pellets and we do have members that are selling both if you look in the for sale section of the forum.

I would get the pellets that Dan has suggested and from someone on here, you won't get these in a pet shop. Start a new thread asking for them.

You should give 2% of the torts weight in pellets twice a week with the green food.
