Default Poppy

Hi guys

I have some massive purple poppies growing in my garden and the seed pods are just drying out - can torts eat poppies? if so i will save the seeds

Only Welsh Poppy which is yellow and Californian Poppy which I doubt is what you have there but you'd need to post a pic to be sure

It could be an oriental poppy (some look a bit like that but most are larger and often orange), but it looks more to me like the common opium poppy (papaver somniferum)

In any case neither of these are good for tortoises (but you might have some fun in harvesting the opium poppy -- it's the sap from the seed head <VBG>)
