Sparkly? Maybe best to stop feeding them glitter!

I wish I knew why they would be sparkly, seems odd that it is not entire clutches, just certain eggs?

Despite the sparkles, the egg looks good still (not that I really know what I'm talking about, but the yolks have settled at the bottom!). It'll be interesting to see how the sparkly bits change throughout the incubation period.

I just did a quick search on here and it seems that there have been others with sparkly eggs...mainly Spur Thighs apparently

I've had tons of sparkly eggs and never worried about them. They hatch just as well as a non-sparkly egg. The egg/s look good Alley. You can actually see that there are 2 yolks in the egg from your picture.

Yes Danny I thought 2 yolks as well, I cant see any kind of divide inside the egg which I had wondered about.
Sparkles are pretty, do you know any reason for them?

No there won't be any solid divide in the egg, but each embryo should have it's own clear sack. I don't think they will have their own white membrane. The sparklies are most likely minerals (other than calcium ) that are in the diet.

When you say white membrane do you mean the membrane that lines the inside of the egg shell? the first thing you come to if you crack an egg?

If the sparkles are produced by minerals why are they only on certain eggs in a clutch? Do you have any links to info on this? I would like to read up if there is anything out there!

Thanks Danny
