Default Horrible evening

My poor dog Jack has been having epileptic fits this evening he is heavily medicated for them but he still gets the odd 1 or 2 however this evening he had 3 straight after one another, when this happens he sometimes gets into a cycle that he cant seem to get out of and it can end up with us having to get him to the vet for IV Diazipam, we seem to have got him out of them now though as we gave him 5 Diazipam tablets poor boy it is so awful to see him like this.

Alley, how distressing for you to see Jack fitting like that. I hope this was a one-off episode of having so many successive fits and he'll recover well from them. x

Thanks Emma, i think he is settling down now, he has had so many drugs now that he probably cant keep his eyes open. It is so upsetting and you feel so helpless just watching him but you are meant to stay back and leave him quiet and in a dark room, the trouble is that he gets so dissorientated when he is back on his feet that he gets stuck in places and knocks things over etc, you have to intervene.

Poor Jack. It must be so scary for him and of course for you, watching him go through it. I hope he has a good night's sleep and has a nice quiet day tomorrow. It must be hard work with a new bouncy pup to look after too.

Oh no!! I feel for you! My has fits too. He's on medication and has a fit every week or 2, but sometimes he has a cluster too. It's horrible isn't it?

Fingers crossed Jack is feeling better now!! xx
