HELP ASAP!
Dogs have got hold of puddle this morning, she has puncture wounds in her shell. One on top has blood round it, although blood isn;t pumping out or anything. I have rang Stuart McCarther in Leeds and they can;t get me in till Monday as the vet specialist isn't. My local vet aren't opent till 5, although i'm dubious to take her there because They're not tortoise specialists.
What should i do? What can I do? Right now she is in a box of hemp and she has buried down. Should I take her to my local vets tonight and then stuart on monday or wait until monday and just take her then? If so, what shall I do with her until then? ALSO, all this has happened just before i stepped out the door to go to my brothers wedding, the ceremony is over and i've dashed out to come back and get her! HELP PLEASE |

Firstly don't panic, easy for me to say I know.
Keep the wounds clean, I would bath them in betadine to make sure no nasties get in there.

Hi Kayleigh,
Like Pete said try to relax Yes best to keep her on newspaper for now. Pictures would help a lot as to what you should do, but definately keep the hole clean. Diluted betadine will work just fine. Keep her warm as she's likely in shock. As soon as you can get to Stuart is fine. Danny

The reddy/browny colour is the antisceptic, not blood.
