Hi Neil
Sorry you have to be here in such sad circumstances, but welcome to a great site. You'll find all you need to know here! I'm a fairly new tortoise keeper myself, and I've become very addcited to this site. Just reading through all the different posts gives you great info and ideas! You sound as though you're doing a great job with Phil, I'm sure you're sister would be proud. Claire |

Hello Neil and welcome to SW I'm so glad you've taken on your sister's tort and can continue the shared bond you'll have - very special.
If you have a garden you may well find some very edible weeds are already sprouting up just waiting to temp Phils taste buds! Sure you'll have many wonderful hours getting to know him more. Carrie |

Hi neil
Welcome to the world of tortoise keeping and to Shelled Warriors I am so sorry it isn't in such sad circumstances , I am very sorry for the loss of your sister. You are doing a great job so far of taking care of Phil, so well done you. Try to get him on a weed only diet as soon as you can, parks, woodland, waste grounds etc are all full of weeds at the moment, not only is it better for Phil, it will save you many £s too. Horsfields love to dig and climb like you wouldn't believe (I have lost mine in the garden more than once ), so deep substrates and bare the digging and climbing capabilities in mind when putting him outside. Have a good look around the site and ask as many questions as you need, you will always get an answer Shelled Warriors is getting quite a following from us in East Lancs recently

Hi Neil,
Welcome to Shelled Warriors. Your sisters tortoise will be in great hands with you and a life long companion and reminder that she loved this little tortoise too. So sorry to hear of her untimely passing away. We will all be here to help you along the way to making this little horsefield tortoise very happy, dont be afraid to ask, no questions are silly except for those which arent asked. Ade
