Default Watering the garden

I'm sure lots of you are familiar with this, but if not....

Today the weather is sometimes cloudy and sometimes sunny. I have five tortoises in four enclosures. All med species but four of them are Sex Beasts. During a cloudy spell they all went to their various beds/hutches/houses. No sign of them. I planted out some little plants I'd raised from seed, and got out the hosepipe. They were so comical, as soon as they heard it, or maybe felt the drop in temp or rise in humidity, they all bustled out of bed to see what was going on. A couple looked, and went back to bed. The others came out and sat in the spray.

So don't be afraid of rain or the hosepipe. They love it.

Mine love a fine misting and some even do a very funny bottom dance.
They will also drink vigorously out of any puddles that form even though they have a pool to drink from.

Mine also love water. I often pour the watering can over their shrubs and over them at the same time and when they see me filling up their outside bath they come over to investigate and have a little shower.

y Hermans love it! Last Friday we had torrential rain here. I went up late at night & found all my "pensioners" wandering round in the pouring rain/dark! They had all been in bed earlier.

Mine often sit out in the rain, even when it's cold, and I panick and put them all in 😂
