Default opuntia cactus :)

Hi!
I already have several opuntia cactus (opuntia rubescens, opuntia monocantha, opuntia microdasis, opuntia sublubata, opuntia montrose) growing to feed my tortoises and other succulents such as aloe, gasteria, haworthia, etc.. but I decided to add some more opuntia, so I bought some pads 2 days ago.
Well, they just arrived and they look great, gonna plant them in pots and keep them by the window.
unfortunately I believe none of my opuntias are hardy enough to be outside, but if someone have any experience with these varieties being outside please tell

1. opuntia brasiliensis

2. opuntia sanguinocola

3. opuntia ficus indica

4. opuntia prickly pear, the mexican one most commonly used for humans
(this one is a biiiiiiig pad)

Nice photos!

I tried some cacti outside but they failed - probably it was the damp that killed them. When I say outside I mean in a coldframe, but the weather here is awful.

I know Opuntia humifusa would be fine outside in the UK as it's native to my state and we get really cold in the winter. Any species native to southern South America should be fine also.

all my succulents are still in the greenhouse, its not so much the cold weather (now)but the wet that does the damage.

Can I ask where you bought them from please? I have a couple of small cacti that I bought from a garden centre but they don't say exactly what they are other than Opuntia.

Hi Hermpop! yeah I keep raiding the local garden centres, but they always have the same opuntias.. boring.. lol
I wanted another types of opuntias, mainly the prickly pear one and the nopal one.
I bought them on ebay from a user that regularly put pads for sale there
cactusjackfarm is its user ID.

He ships them from Spain! was mega quick with me, bought them 2 days ago and they arrived today!! lol
