Default UVB on thermostat (Megaray)

Is it possible to run a megaray UV off a dimming thermostat?

I was going to get one just to be on the safe side with spring on its way. I just read on a supplier websit enot to be used with UV?

Only issue i can see is it will also reduce the amount of UV output. However this is the same as if i increase the distance of the lamp away surely?

Does anyone here run a megaray of a dimming thermostat?

Thanks

Due to the way the work. you cannot dim them, they simply won't work.

And if you used an on/off type thermostat you would either severely shorten the life of the bulb, or they would not produce any UV anyway.

They aren't designed for use with thermostats, and won't work with one. Much like if you tried adding one to a fluorescent tube.

You either need to stick to using separate bulbs, or just adjust the temps by setting the height.

Slightly off topic but it's the same with energy saving bulbs, they must not be used with dimmers so when everyone is forced to use energy saving bulbs in their houses dimmers will be a thing of the past
