Poor tortoises in Marrakesh :(

Here is a photo my Aunty took today in Marrakesh. Poor little guys, our torts are privileged. But really that's just not right. Out of interest, what species are they?

Spur thighs of some kind possibly Tunisians or Moroccans? Was this in a market for sale?

The sad part is if they are either of the above species they are quite delicate so don't do well in beginners hands

Sorry Suze, I know it's awful. I believe that they were for sale in a market. They just deserve so much better

The top ones almost look like Egyptians, which would make sense seeing as they are seperate and probably more money. The Egyptians would have come from Libya.
