Hi,

I lurk on here and have read this thread today, and think you have done a great job of rehoming these tortoises.
I just thought I would tell you what someone advised me a few years ago.

I've collected and rehomed tortoises for quite a few years for another forum, and once went to pick up a poor Horsfield in a tiny viv. The family from whom I was picking it up from, asked me if I wanted to take the viv. I said no, but later someone advised me to always take any inadequate housing offered otherwise the temptation is there for them to replace one poor animal with another.

Just thought it was good advice.

That's good advice Lorna!

How are they settling in Emma?

I can also help in South Wales!

Very well thanks Becci. They've had a good clean () and are pooping the sweetcorn out their systems! Weed and flower diet to get used to here!
They also are getting used to topsoil substrate as they were previously on hemp.
They are inquisitive little torts though and have been exploring their new spider plant. We had their plastic tortoise table included in the sale and after a jolly good clean we decided to use it to help them settle in quicker for a couple of weeks while they get used to us and a new routine. Then into their wooden one very soon.
Hopefully I'll get some photos on tomorrow. I'm just on hubby's iPad.....haven't got the energy to fire up the computer and faff with photos tonight.

All sorted between my pal & Shaz for collecting the tort & for her journey up here Shaz has been so kind in sorting a travelling box etc. And my pal -Anna- is really looking forward to sharing the trip with a charming travelling companion
