I have never bought any sowthistle seeds, I collected from flowering plants around my area, sown the seeds in Autumn and in pots. Plenty growing now in my garden:0)

I think they could be in the SW med mix and/or quick growing mix as I sprinkle a bag of each into the enclosures and weed patch each autumn and the Sowthistle and Cats Ear tend to come up the best.
I find sowthistle turns up the most in the garden and hanging baskets for some reason and I love it as it gets so tall and with big fat leaves. I think once you get it, it must germinate itself quite well.

Yes I think it also likes recently distributed soil Emma. Ive got one doing very well right outside Hermanns greenhouse door in a big pot which has just appeared!
Ive brought all kinds of seeds this year. Hoping they will take better. Now that they don't have to compete with the giant conifers!! |

I find sowthistles very temperamental and always have a job to get them to grow in any quantity.
