I know it's not meant for torts but thought it might do for night heat. I think I tried one once for my shoulder but I'd have been as well sticking it elsewhere

Think I'll be making a trip to lidl on thursday, cheers for that Alan.

I was actually looking at infra red heat bulbs as an alternative to ceramic heat emitters the other day and they were much more expensive which put me off. This one looks worth a try

one thing it might be worth thinking about is that the holder will take up to a 150w bulb, therefore it should hold a combined or decent spot, if thats so 9.99 for a holder isn't bad. You'd need to see if its a screw or bayonet fixing and I assume the bulb is removable.

Good point! Even for the holder that is a good price (thats if the bulb is removable). I use infrared bulbs and my 100 watt ones cost approx £5/6

another thing as its a 150w bulb odds are its a ceramic holder and the head is also adjustable, it wouldn't be hard to mount it either.

Oooh looks good, I may well give them a go, but... My knowledge of electricalness is one of my many weaknesses...

I know I can't put combined heat uv bulbs on a habistat, could I use these with a habistat?

It might just work. I've got a 500 watt infra red lamp, it don't arf chuck out some heat. Has to be 6 foot above the tortoises.
