Default May 2011 Tortoise Meeting - with USA speaker

Welcome to the May 2011 tortoise meeting
With a touch of the USA .


Just Me and my Tortoise is a voluntary tortoise, terrapin and turtle group that covers the whole of Kent and London and provides support, education and helps rescue and re-home Chelonia. It is free to join us and you do not have to live in the area to come along to our meetings.

Speaker: Ed Pirog
Author of ‘Russian Tortoises’ and ‘Sulcata and Leopard Tortoises’ and others
Here from the USA
Presentation on:

Tortoises in America
Sunday 15th May 2011
2pm - 5.30pm

Venue: Keston Village Hall, Heathfield Road, Kent BR2 6BG
£3 per person (£1 per child)
Includes refreshments and cake


(Please do not bring tortoises, terrapins or turtles along to the meeting)

You seem to have some interesting speakers lined up.

Looks like i may be paying a visit.

But cant decide on which one.

Thanks Andy, glad you like them

We have more after Ed too, just to confuse you further There are still three vet speakers (who are all experienced Chelonia/exotic vets) to come and then we have Reptile Keeping magazine for December. You can follow our years events on our webpage (the web address appears under my signature). There is a page for meetings and it gives you all the dates and speakers for the year ahead.

Look forward to meeting you. Wonder which one you will decide upon

Maybe, Andy might consider talking to the group about his experiences in successfully breeding the Indian Star Tortoises?
I'm sure that this would be a very popular subject, and would be great to learn more about. Having bred them now for several years in a row, he looks to be creating a whole constellation of "Stars"!!

I've been meaning to update this... I'm gonna have to adjust my topic to the Husbandry of Testudo (one americans perspective). I thought this might be a little more interesting for the group.
