The Three County Tortoise society are holding there Pre-hibernation Health checks on the following dates.
Sunday 19th September at Birmingham Nature Centre from 10.00 till 4.00. We do not charge but the Nature Centre do I am afraid. You do get to look round the centre with some interesting animals.

All helpers are expert tortoise keepers and we have a specialist vet Nurse on duty during the day.

Thank you to all those who helped out today. We still saw plenty of tortoises despite the Pope choosing to visit Birmingham! It was lovely to meet old and new faces and to meet up with Burno from SW.
We raised close to £300 for conservation whcih was wonderful.

We held the Cheltenham health check today and again it was very successful. thank you to all who helped out many coming from as far as Birmingham, London, Hertford and Yeovil!!!
Unfortunatley many torts were found to be underweight due to our por summer. Lets hope summer 2011 is better.
Thank you also to' burno' our newest helper who barely had time for a cup of coffee with me during the whole day!!!
