Hi ang welcome to the forum I would love to see picstures of your seahorses
Firstly let me say please buy your torotise from a breeder and not a petshop. A good first Tortoise would be a hermanns, a horsfields or a spur thighed. I see you are in kent well you will have no problem finding a breder there Check out the breeders list at www.shelledwarriors.co.uk

hi,
i am going for the hermanns i think..
i brought a big indoor rabbit cage today to stop the kids seeing if it can swim!
i also got a reptile 8watt light and a heat lamp, and thermometer thingy to stick on the side
so i think all i need now is some sort of substrate, feed bowl rocks and a hidy hole (not sure what to use for this yet!

does this sound right...

Is the 8 watt light UV? For substrate you can use a mixture of playsand and topsoil (50/50) or Hemp. A ceramic bowl such as those used as trays for plants work well for water. For a hides I use the flexible log rolls you can buy for small animals.
