I am guessing female too, the vent is quite small and purse like also the tail is short, males reds have long tails.

Hi Jackie
Female older mature females do sometimes have a concave plastron not as deep as males , all my adult females have evidence of concaveing . This animal is older than 6-7 and appears to be a smaller sub-varity or hybrid between redfoot and cherryheaded. Darren
