Testudo marginata
Dear all,
Since the age of around 5, I've always wanted a tortoise. 18 years on, I've decided to take the plunge. It is only through the internet that I've found that there are really quite a few tortoise breeders, and er, suppliers... I have been reading around a bit, and for some reason, have set my heart on a Testudo marginata. Is this a good tortoise for beginners? The next question is, where can I get one? I would definitely like to buy from a breeder, but looking on the breeders list, can't see any available. Regards, Rob |

Shirley of the Jersey Tortoise Sanctuary breeds marginatas too. She sells them from the mainland when she has any. Her contact is tortoisesanc@localdial.com
Hope this helps |

Less stress for tortoises if you can buy nearer to where you live<g>.

As I have no idea where Marcus Langford comes from I wouldn't know which is nearer to Linz. I just put up a suggestion. I may be wrong but I think Linz is now in touch with Shirley. Hope this helps with any confusion<vbg>

Thank you all so much, and what a helpful lot you are!
I have sent a couple of emails off, so look forward to hearing back. Linz, I saw you pictures, I think that's what set my heart on marginatas! Can I ask where you got yours from? This could well be the first question of many!!! Best regards, Rob |
