Hi there.

Here is a picture of Joe (the young tortoise) we have done some looking in to things and am starting to wonder if it could still be her egg tooth? I read here and other paces that they should loose these between 6-12 months is that right?

Wow, I didn't even know they had an egg tooth. I've never seen that before, has he got nares ? (nostrils) As I can't see them Does he have any problems eating? This is very interesting and he is a very special little guy!

That's similar to a cleft pallet.

It does look like a cleft palet, but with some type of growth. Might want to have a vet look at that, to see whats going on.

The nares are gone but there does look like some keratin growth on top of it.
