Loft conversion
I know, I know lofts or attic's are too cold for tortoises but mine need room! So I've bought the outside in and created a new "table" 8 foot x 5 foot in the loft similar to my outdoor setup. It has a house with a megaray (holding 32 under the hotspot) and a ceramic heater for the night time.
I've be monitoring the loft temps for a few weeks and I'm getting 18 degrees in the day and a minumum of 12 overnight. Early start The house taking shape (measuring temps as we go) 7 hours later My tortoises looking rather small Quick learners. (there's a sheet of perspex fronting half the house) |

Thanks all.I've just added a couple of hides to the warm house bit. These lot get on but I wouldn't want anyone left out in the cold overnight if there was a falling out.

Great job kirkie...
Not sure i'd do that thought.....I'd be afraid of them climbing out over the sides and getting lost up there though

Looks good, but are you not concerned about the levels of dust in a loft? That would be my main worry, along with birds finding their way in, which they seem to in ours despite efforts to stop them!
