Fridge Hibernation Poo
Both torts (Hermann) have done six weeks in hibernation. In a fridge that averages 5.7C.
one has lost 3% weight and all appears fine the other has also lost about 3.5% weight but the second one did a poo in week one and has done another in week 6. No signs of urine. Both reactive to stimulus i.e. move legs if gently touched. Both seems fine no outward signs of issues. Both had a full wind down too before hibernation. Do I need to worry about the poo? |

Pooing is fine, as this comes from the intestines, not the stomach. Urination is the one to worry about, if they wee, then get them up:0)

Hi Ben,
if you have a look at a few posts previous to yours you will see that I posted the exact same thing. Two weeks on and she is still in the fridge and hardly lost a thing since. |
