Default What else can go wrong with this pregnancy ahhh

Well i went for my glucose test last friday and my first blood test (before drinking the glucose) was high the one after was ok.

So they booked me an apointment for today at the diabetic clinic, i was just thinking it was for another blood test, how wrong was I.

I have gestational diabetes and i have a machine to prick my finger 3 times a day to record my levels. Then i have to go on a sort of diet, no sweet stuff (which is what i am really craving).

I have another appointment next week for a scan and more talks.

I feel so down about it all. Im still really ill and food was my only comfort, and now that has gone. Someone kill me now ahhhhhh

Oh Sarah you poor thing I really feel for you, pregnancy is lovely but sadly isnt always easy!

I noticed that you mentioned that you are craving sweet things? I did in my pregnancy also and my midwife explained that it wasnt sweets and chocolate that my body was craving but natural sugars, grapes etc. So give it a try it may help the cravings it helped me. She also stated that we get cravings as its our bodies way of telling us what we lack in and what baby needs more of. So by the sounds of it your body is looking for some natural sugars.

I am so sorry to hear about the diabetes, its so unfair you have had such a rough time already. On the bright side the diabetes will go once the baby is born (or so I have heard) So although its a real blow and a pain, you just need to put up with it till baby arrives (easier said than done I know)

My thoughts are with you and if ever you need a moan just give me a shout

Kelly xx

Poor you Sarah,

Its not for much longer and the diabetes should go once you have had the baby, at least they have detected it now rather than later.

Keep your chin up gal and hang in there.

Sarah,

I have had a look on the net, how about peanut butter with a little bit of banana mixed with milk and ice cubes in very small amount to try and help your sweet cravings, may be once a day.
