steve / converted was gigging in redditch and debs and vee and rob went along ....

linda being a good girl ( with a friday night headache ) decided to stay home ..............


and prepare for the 3rd day of the meet .................... visiting sarah



who would have thought a friendly little drink could last 3 days

Following on from Linda's post.....

Myself, Viv, Rob went to see Steve's band play last night.....

Viv was concerned that all of our Midlands nights out end with a Balti... so at 1am this morning... guess where we ended up!!! A balti in Northfield! we left there around 2:30am - two late nights in a row... need more beauty sleep!

Linda... you should have come - we had a fab time... hope Katherine enjoyed the Halloween dance!!!

Ade text me a couple of times during the night to say he was on his last leg of the Midlands run out - Esther was on her last legs... shattered. He had been to Sarah's earlier on then off to Telford to meet his friend.. then back to Shrewsbury to his mums!

This afternoon... myself, Steve, Viv, Linda & hopefully Catherine are off to Sarah's.....

So... all sing along..... i'm getting married in the morning, ding dong the bells are gonna chime.....!!!!

I'll start off with the beginning of the night right through to this morning (Saturday 11am)

Myself and Steve walked into the Norfolk Hotel to meet Ade and Esther.... not knowing what they both really looked like we were expecting 'semi normal people'... however we walked into the reception area and was greeted by Brian May!!!!!! well actually Ade wearing the biggest baddest black wig you have ever seen in your life..... he wanted to share Linda's love for wigs!




After everyone had met.... we ventured over to the Garden House - just over the road. Poor Esther had to walk slowly due to a bad foot and Ade.... well he has groin strain!!!!!

After ordering the drinks and finding a suitbale table we all started to enjoy the evening.... Linda walked around the bar showing off her dog...which was wrapped up in her white cardigan to keep it warm.... at one point a man drinking in the bar asked Linda if it was her child in her arms... if you could of seen it - you would have serious doubts about who the father was!!!! Certainly not Paul!




Linda settled down (eventually) but got rather hot.... undid a few buttons which revealed her rather hairy chest!!!! At this point the people on the next table left rather quickly!



Steve wanted to join Linda and showed it by getting undressed too... !



The drinks flowed... Ade & Steve decided that infact they looked like long lost brothers and shared common love for shaved heads! 8) Although you wouldn't know it by Ade's wig



The girls drank....and drank....and drank.... 8) 8) Viv, Louise, myself & Linda were learning about Esther's job as a masseur..... no... not the kind you get on the Hagley Road here in Birmingham that give extra services but the kind where she gives sports massages etc.. to footballers....

Ade.... shame Esther is too busy to help with that groin strain of yours!!!



I asked an older gentleman to take a photo of all of us... I swear he was messing it up so he could perv over my cleavage....he took about 10 attempts and this is the final result....



Towards the end of the drinking in the bar I went to the ladies with Linda (only to make sure she found her way back because last time she got very lost and ended up making friends with a man in the garden!!!) and came back only to find that there were 2 she-men sitting in close proximiity.... they really could have done a lot more with their makeup!

At this point... last orders had already been called... everyone had still got beers/vodka/guiness etc...but managed to drink them quickly... apart from Linda... who had 2 pints and a short left. So.... she drank as much as she could... and then had a drink confiscated! The shame of it!!!

We all decided it was time for something to eat.... so being in Birmingham.... Balti City called.

We went to a curry house.... it was closed....

We walked to another one... in the meantime... met Anita Dobson and Brian May enroute... Brian playing air guitar for us!




We had a good meal - about 50 popadoms were consumed, lots of rice, curry, steak, chips, chicken and two lots of ice cream....

Of course.. it would not have been a true Balti Shelled Warriors night out unless Linda had declared undying love for another waiter.... here is the proof it happened again!



It was at this point in the evening where Linda announced to everyone in the curry house that she was getting married in the morning.... and asked someone on another table (who just happened to be a hairdressed (much needed with that wig!)) to be her bridesmaid! Of course the other lady accepted and will no doubt be looking for Linda at the registra office at some point this afternoon!

Linda told us a few stories of past and present.....Steve didnt get to hear them at the table as he was upstairs in the toilets... however he came back down and said he had heard every word due to the volume of all of us laughing and giggling at Linda's cheeky stories!

The evening ended loudly.... everyone saying goodbye and arranging to meet again today (Saturday & Sunday). Lidna's wig was half on...half off...



At this point it was about 2:30am... !

This morning.... I woke up, sat eating my yoghurt when I get a frantic call from Ade in the Norfolk Hotel..... "have you got my car keys???" Ade has lost his keys. Is miles away from home... not got a spare set!

Steve goes to look in the back of the car... just in case.

I receive another phone call.... "dont worry! I've found them! They were in Esther's bag - put them there to be safe!"

So.... a great 2nd Midlands Night Out.

LMAO, PMSL, what a great night, have just finished catching up on posts from the last 12 days and have left the best one till last to reply to.

The only thing I would like to add is a few of my own pics to support those of the original post for prosperity.

What a great nite one to definately remember and we were both made feel extremely welcome in Birmingham.

Saturday started off great, we got up early and down for breakfast at 9am, no hangovers or anything else, then things took a turn for the worse when I forgot I left the car keys in Esthers handbag for safe keeping in case I lost them

OMG no car keys, car stranded in Birmingham, parents in Shrewsbury and spare keys in Ireland. Not a nice feeling at all, maybe I could have borrowed one of Linda's many cars if we hadn't found them , but thankfully we did, panic over, we loaded up the car and got the bus into the city to do a bit of sight seeing and shoping.











Following the sight seeing we arranged to meet up with Deb and Steve at the Hotel and they kindly escorted us to Linda's house to meet Catherine and her Redfoots.

Linda had not long got up when we got there, think it had something to do with the bad hair day she had the night before, or another substance of the same colour,lol

Managed to get a picture of the official photographer and Steve with the Redfoots.



Then off to Deb and Steves to meet Jez, Ringo and Penny. Where I also got to read the nights events as posted that morning, well what else can I say, still smiling at it now.

Then Deb and Steve escorted us both to the M5 with instructions on how to get to Sarah and Andy's new house in Walsall, but as Deb was hanging out of the window of the car to say take the next exit off the roundabaout I had to shout back what is Sarah's address, we got instructions to the street but no house number.

We got the number via text on on we went getting to Sarahs wil very few problems.

On arriving at Sarah and Andy's I got my new spirit level out to check the work in the garage was up to building standards and it passed with flying colours, Andy and Sarahs Dad were bury building Daisy a new shed house to live in, so Sarah showed us round the garage. Well done to Sarah, Andy and Dad who have done a great job, was privileged to be one of the first to visit it with the tortoises at home. We even got to see the 2 Spikes who are even more lovely close up.

Sorry folks no pics of Sarah I was too busy chatting to get the camera out , and time was flying so then we left Walsall bound for the M6 and M54 to Telford before going back home to Shrewsbury at 11pm.

Thanks to Linda, Paul, Deb, Steve, Viv, Louise, Sarah and Andy for making us feel very welcome in Birmingham.

Next installment to follow is the trip to Chester Zoo on the Sunday.

Another great installment Ade. I'm dissapointed that you missed the oppertunity to get a few pics of sarah. I'm sure those at the meet will remeber the lengths we went to to get a pic of her

Luckily I don't remember you taking any pics of me so I'm sure I will be able to laugh at the next installment rather than run for the hills
