Spiders
We've got a lovely family of spiders in one of the coldframes. They seem to like the warm and dry places and it's almost like they come out to bask. The tortoises just ignore them.

Wow they look great, I have spiders residing in the tort sheds, when I open the main door they run from being under the heat lamp, so I do believe they bask along with the torts, and I agree they do no harm and keep the other bugs away x

Spiders love being in my outside tort houses too. I just ensure they're not false widows and then leave them alone.

Wasn't impressed at the one that crawled out of the petrol pumps handle when I filled up my tank this morning (imagine biker babe, full gear and fast bike screaming and squirming whilst fueling the tank) it was huge though, approximately 4mm!

I don't have a fear of spiders either, but I am very wary of the false widows as there have been a lot of bites in my local area and some nasty wounds as a result.
My eldest son would love to have tarantulas but my daughter has a phobia of spiders, so he's had to stick to tree frogs and geckos.
