Help - Hermanns tortoise ad - A10
I was just looking at an free ad website and someone is selling a hermanns tortoise and I am interested into buying it.
It says its 3 years old, If i bought it, where would I stand with the whole A10 thingy? Its all way to confusing for me? Thanks |

they must pass on to you the article 10 certificate, if they don't have one then don't buy the tort, its a hassle to get one. If the tort is over the 10cm size the tort should be chipped and the papers updated into their name before they sell it, the one they would have had when it was a hatchling would be in the breeders name, if its under that size then the baby cert can be handed to you and you would have to update it when the tort is big enough. If the tort is free then the cert isn't that important but you'd not be able to sell it either without the papers they can only be given away.

just to add to PG's post, the Article 10 cert should be in the name of the seller even if it is under 10cm, if not it is an illegal sale
